ABSTRACT

The impacts of climate change are becoming more and more visible around the world. India, being a developing economy, is highly vulnerable to climate change impacts. Actions taken by the international community as well as domestic measure by various countries including India, do not seem to be enough to avert the crisis. In such case, the Supreme Court of India, because of its active interest in protecting environment and the vast body of environmental jurisprudence developed, may be required to play an important role to address climate change and protect life and health of people in India.
