NSL DISTILLERY EFFLUENT AND ITS EFFECT OF PADDY CROP WITH VARIOUS CONCENTRATIONS IN MAU, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA

ABSTRACT

 

An investigation was carried out to understand the effect of different concentration of distillery effluent on seedling growth i.e. root and shoot length, total seedling fresh weight(g), total seedling dry weight(g). Increase in concentration of effluent in paddy crop exhibit maximum seed germination. Change in shoot length, root length, total seedling fresh weight and total seedling dry weight of paddy crop was also observed with various concentrations. Control, 10 %, and 25 % had a growth promoting effect while beyond 50%, 75 % and 100 %, growth was nil. Same types of results were also obtained for the fresh and dry weight of seedling.
