ABSTRACT

Environmental imbalance has become a major concern for mankind and is continuously increasing threat on survival of life on this planet. This imbalance goes neck to neck with technological advancement, population increase, change in living, practices and some natural phenomenon. The need to operationalization of sustainable development would entail search for development options that cause minimal environmental media and resources degradation while maximizing economic benefits. This paper aims at exploring and illustrating the utility of qualitative/semi quantitative simulation modeling methods in systems analysis and design. The specific method investigated is "System Dynamics" Simulation as potential tool for charting out better options for sustainable development.
