MONITORING OF AIR QUALITY STATUS IN AND AROUND OPGC THERMAL POWER PLANT, BELPAHAR, ORISSA (INDIA)

ABSTRACT

 

A study for assessment of air quality was carried out in and around the Orissa power Generation Corporation’S thermal power plant (OPGC) in Orissa, India. The 24 hrs average concentrations of suspended particulate matter (SPM), respirable particulate matter (RPM), sulfur dioxide (SO2) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) were determined at regular intervals throughout three seasons for one year at ten monitoring stations in residential areas and industrial areas.
