ABSTRACT

Effect of air pollution on two species of Cassia at three sampling sites of Indore city (India) were studied. The parameters examined were (i) Size of leaves (ii) Fresh and dry weight of leaves (iii) Number of stomata (iv) Stomatal index, (v) Dry weight and L/B ratio in the plants growing in polluted habitats. Reduction in number of stomata and size were also noted. The species growing in vehicular polluted area were found more affected in comparison to industrial area.
