ASCORBATE EFFECT ON ENDOSULFAN AND CYPERMETHRIN INDUCED ALTERATIONS IN THE RBC OF THE FRESH WATER FISH, Channa orientalis (SCHEINDER)

ABSTRACT

 

Fresh water fishes, Channa orientalis were exposed to chronic dose of Endosulfan and Cypermethrin without and with ascorbic acid. Remarkable decrease in total RBC was observed in Endosulfan and Cypermethrin exposed fishes. Fishes exposed to pesticides along with Lascorbic acid showed less present variation on the total RBC. Pre-exposed fishes to pesticides showed fast recovery in total RBC with ascorbic acid than in normal water.
